Beekeeping is a fascinating, complex and absorbing activity. It is important that people who are interested in taking it up, either as a hobby or as a business, have a good understanding of the principles and techniques behind the successful keeping of bees.

To this end, the Association offers an annual Beginners Course, consisting of a series of evening talks starting at the end of January/early February each year followed by practical hands-on sessions in late Spring/early Summer at the Association's Training Apiary where new beekeepers are shown how to handle bees safely and effectively.
