bees (click to view the video)The Welsh Beekeeping Association offers a series of exams in beekeeping, starting with the Basic Assessment. Passing the Basic Assessment means that you have been judged as competent to keep bees. Anyone who has done our beginner's course and has kept bees for at least a year can take this exam, which consists of an oral question and answer session and a practical session where you will be asked to go through a hive. Once you have passed the Basic Assessment, you can go on to take a series of modules which lead to the award of Master Beekeeper (though many people just take one or two modules to increase their knowledge) The WBKA wishes to know how many people from our Association are likely to take the Basic Assessment in 2017. If you would like to take this Assessment, or would like more information on the exams, please contact me by email or phone. or contact John Verran click HERE he is a WBKA examiner and can give you guidance about the Basic examination or the modules.
We have one member Bill Lee who has takien the modules and would I am sure give you some up to date advice.

Thank you. Greg Nuttgens (Education Officer) 01656 773501/07896 570263
